About

Practical experience across people, systems and creative work. My background spans healthcare support, technical troubleshooting, photography and digital product development. I bring a calm, practical approach to complex situations, strong documentation and problem-solving skills, and a continuing interest in how technology can improve services, workflows and client experiences.

Biography

I am John Peter Dorado, a Christchurch-based professional with a background across healthcare support, technical support, photography and digital systems. My work has consistently centred on helping people, solving practical problems and improving the way services are delivered.

In healthcare, I have worked in support roles since 2019 and currently serve as a Senior Support Worker. My experience includes supporting people with complex physical and mental-health needs, administering medication, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with healthcare professionals and making calm decisions during demanding situations. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Level 7 qualification in Health Services Management.

Before moving into healthcare support, I built several years of technical-support experience across Lexmark printers, Sony consumer electronics and telecommunications services including Virgin Mobile, Sprint and Assurance Wireless. That work developed my troubleshooting, escalation handling, fraud-prevention awareness, documentation and customer-support skills. I later completed postgraduate applied-science study and continued building practical web, Linux and self-hosted systems.

Alongside my professional work, I run Doradz Studio and have approximately five years of photography experience in New Zealand, specialising in weddings, events and portraits. I manage the full client workflow from consultation and shoot planning through image selection, editing, secure delivery and ongoing portfolio development. I also created a live photography platform to improve the client-gallery experience.

I am currently studying Financial Technology and developing my knowledge in digital health, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, blockchain and compliance-focused technology. I am especially interested in work that connects real-world healthcare or business needs with practical, well-designed systems.

Career Overview

A career built across service, systems and creative work. My experience combines frontline healthcare support, technical troubleshooting, client service, documentation, leadership and independent photography practice.

Working Philosophy

Confident but factual, practical rather than corporate: understand the real problem, document it clearly, and build or apply a solution that works.

Building at the intersection of healthcare, technology and creative systems. I am currently studying Financial Technology and expanding my knowledge in digital health, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, blockchain and compliance-focused technology. • Cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Practical cybersecurity labs — active learning, not certification

  • Photography, visual storytelling and creative production
  • Digital-health systems, health data and clinical-application workflows
  • Financial technology, blockchain, AML/compliance and smart-contract concepts
  • Cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity fundamentals, Linux and self-hosting
  • AI-assisted creative and software workflows
  • Home-server projects, 3D printing and hands-on maker projects

Professional Values

  • Respect and dignity. Treat people as individuals and protect privacy in both healthcare and creative work.
